Very informative, many myths are busted!Learned quite bit of what’s ahead。 The book debunks menopause myths and normalizes it。 Makes you look forward to it

The Menopause Bible- A Must Read for any woman over 40!Ms。 Briden has condensed a career’s worth of information into a thorough, easily digestible manual。 I read it over two days and already want to start over to take notes。 It should be mandatory reading for any health practitioner treating women of perimenopausal/menopausal age。 This book gives answers (and hope!) to anyone dealing with the puzzling array of symptoms that midlife women can experience。 “Second puberty” is now demystified!

This book saved my life。 It covers a lot of ground and is just as useful for perimenopausal women as menopausal, if not more so。 It explains exactly what is happening and talks about how to support your systems through this time。 Great advice about doctors, sleep, supplements。 Get it。

All women over 40 should read this book!

This is a great book for women in their forties and above! (Or younger, if you want to know what's ahead)。 Lots of practical advice written in a friendly gentle tone。 This is a great book for women in their forties and above! Finally, some practical advice!Dr。 Briden does such an excellent job of explaining how our hormones are affected by our stage in life, and exactly what we can do to get them balanced。 I really appreciated the sections about how to talk to your doctor, and also a very thorough walkthrough of supplements for each situation。

Excellent resource。 Filled with information of all things related to hormones, perimenopause, and menopause。 Have tried some of the vitamins and am noticing a huge difference。 For anyone struggling with the hormone shift that happens as we age, this book is chock full of good advice and suggestions。 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

this book has good information but it's not a book you read, more of a glossary of symptoms and hormonal issues。 this book has good information but it's not a book you read, more of a glossary of symptoms and hormonal issues。 。。。more

Like another reviewer, I am also a big fan of the other book by the author "Period Repair manual" which I also read recently。 So, I also preordered and read the book as it came out。 This book I enjoyed even more than period repair manual。 It is more personal as the author is currently in Perimenopause and shares personal insight and experience。 Also, it is very up to date and profound and very interesting。 It touches all different symptoms, how the hormones change and the body adapts。 She calls Like another reviewer, I am also a big fan of the other book by the author "Period Repair manual" which I also read recently。 So, I also preordered and read the book as it came out。 This book I enjoyed even more than period repair manual。 It is more personal as the author is currently in Perimenopause and shares personal insight and experience。 Also, it is very up to date and profound and very interesting。 It touches all different symptoms, how the hormones change and the body adapts。 She calls the process second puberty and the path towards girlhood。 This is a very interesting view and - in fact - has inspired me to understand things from own first puberty in a new light。 The author also touches the taboo on Menopause as well。 It is shocking how little we still know about the process and how few books are on the market。 I recently researched and I am sure this book is the best and most comprehensive on the topic。 So this book is very necessary and important to make progress with lifting the taboo and helping women affected (and every woman surviving her 50s is affected - the author even researched that 9 of 10 women live long enough to experience it)。 She also reminds us several times that it is not a sign of age, but a normal biological process occurring while also ageing happens。 However, we shouldn't see it as ageing!Every woman should read this book as every woman will be affected sooner or later。 I really wish the two books by this author were published years ago and that I had read them years ago as I would have benefited from reading them earlier。 Ideally already in my teens! :) 。。。more

I am a big fan of the author's previous book "Period Repair Manual" which I would recommend to all menstruating women so as soon as I saw Lara Briden had a book aimed at the over 40s, I pre-ordered straight away and have read from cover to cover over a lockdown weekend!Briden clearly describes what happens in the perimenopause and menopause - what is going on with hormones and what can be expected。 She gives general lifestyle advice to ease the transition and specific holistic advice with regard I am a big fan of the author's previous book "Period Repair Manual" which I would recommend to all menstruating women so as soon as I saw Lara Briden had a book aimed at the over 40s, I pre-ordered straight away and have read from cover to cover over a lockdown weekend!Briden clearly describes what happens in the perimenopause and menopause - what is going on with hormones and what can be expected。 She gives general lifestyle advice to ease the transition and specific holistic advice with regards to any symptoms you might have。 I was particularly pleased that she also has a chapter on the psychological effects including feelings of shame or grief that you might go through。There is a lot that overlaps with her previous book and also plenty of advice specific to those of this age。 Highly recommend for women entering the perimenopause。 。。。more

Not the kind of book that you necessarily are drawn to or care to rave about, however, if you are female then I highly recommend this book。 I learnt so much! Menopause still sadly has that stigma surrounding it and women need to be knowledgeable about what is happening to their bodies。 This book was extremely helpful, informative and indeed empowering, that all women should read it as they approach perimenopause and beyond。 It is full of evidence based ideas and solutions to assist in optimising female health and wellbeing at this crucial phase。 ‘。。。 know that perimenopause and the early years of menopause are a critical window for health, and that’s true even if you don’t have symptoms。 By critical window, I mean a sensitive period or inflection point, during which time small health problems could, if not addressed, amplify into larger and more permanent health problems later in life。’The first four chapters are all about understanding the process of perimenopause, both emotionally and biologically, the final six chapters of the book are all about treatment。 Women spend one third of their lives in menopause, which is why it makes sense to support your health through this phase。 Being so rich in research and factual detail, the writing is at times heavy going and somewhat repetitive。 It would therefore make sense to approach this book by reading the introductory chapters and then jumping to the sections most pertinent to oneself。 Now, so much more au fait with this whole topic, I for one certainly feel more confident in how to approach and work with this phase in my life。 Thank you Lara for being that medically trained physician who spoke ‘woman to woman’ about everything, even on how to talk/what questions to ask your doctor。 ‘I just don’t care to engage in an all-out battle with aging because, at the end of the day, I have better things to do。 It’s a refreshing departure from the constant need to be pretty that many of us feel as young women。’This review is based on a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review。 The quoted material may have changed in the final release。 。。。more
